Cover design and interior text formatting for Dark City Poets Society’s first ever anthology.
About_
In partnership with the Black Mountain Public Library in North Carolina, this project supported 26 emerging local writers in achieving their first publications. All proceeds benefited the library’s continued programs and services.
Iterations_
In the initial stages, we explored soft earth tones before opting for a true black. The final product was printed with a matte finish.
Interior_
The simplicity and balance of negative space in this interior aligns with the minimalism of the cover and keeps the focus solely on the words themselves.
Aspiring Writer to Published Poet_
As a literature lover myself, championing emerging writers has become a passion of mine. I was eager to join this project because of writers like Jen Neff, seen here, excited and touched to have her work presented in the anthology.
